Camp Kita
Application Process
We are deeply sorry for your loss, and we’re honored that you’re considering Camp Kita for your child. Our admissions process is designed to ensure that we provide the best possible experience for each camper and that your child is ready to benefit from the camp environment at Kita. Please read the steps to learn about our application process. When you're ready, simply click the button to begin the screening.
We take great care in understanding each camper's unique needs to offer the best possible support. Our Clinical Admissions Director, a licensed mental health professional, reviews all applications to ensure that campers are well-prepared for the camp experience. Please note that the full application process may take several weeks, so we appreciate your patience.
STEP ONE:
Application Screening
Step 1: What is it?
The first step in the admissions process is an initial screening to help us determine if your child is ready to benefit from Camp Kita. This involves answering 3-5 brief questions designed to give us insight into your child’s needs.

What you need to do:
-
Answer 5 questions on CampDocs.com: There are no wrong answers. The questions are designed to ensure Camp Kita can be a healthy and supportive environment for your child to receive benefit from camp.
-
Submit your responses: Once we receive your answers, our team will review them to determine if we can offer your child a healthy and supportive experience at Camp Kita.
Next Step:
Once we’ve reviewed your responses, we’ll notify you whether your child is invited to continue with the full application process.
STEP TWO:
Full Application &
Phone Consultation
Step Two: DEADLINE: May 1st
What is it?
If you’re invited to submit a full application, this step involves completing the application form, having a consultation with our team (via phone or email), and, if applicable, scheduling a consultation with your child’s counselor.

What you need to do:
-
Complete the full application: You’ll receive an email with a link to the full application. Complete it through our secure, HIPAA-compliant platform (CampDocs).
-
Submit a $100 refundable deposit: The deposit can be fully refunded when your camper arrives at camp.
-
Talk with our team: After submitting the application, our admissions counselors may reach out with additional questions. You will need to respond via phone or email.
-
Schedule a consultation with your child’s counselor (if applicable): If your child has an existing counselor, you’ll need to schedule a consultation with them.
-
It’s the responsibility of the parent/guardian to facilitate this conversation.
-
You may also use the downloadable letter template to help initiate this discussion with your child’s counselor. See below.
-
You will need to grant permission for your child's counselor to speak with our counselors.
-
Important Notes:
-
All application materials and consultations must be finalized by May 1st.
-
A completed application does not guarantee admission.
-
Applications that are incomplete or not submitted by May 1st will be automatically declined.
-
You may use the letter template available for download to help initiate this conversation with your child's counselor.
-
We never want the deposit to be a barrier for your family to attend Camp Kita. Email smosher@campkita.com if you would like to request a waiver.
